About the Item

Ashtray. Silver (.833) in its colour. Porto, Portugal, 1938-1984. With contrast marks. Ashtray with two silver supports in its colour, decorated with a series of vegetal and architectural elements of Rococo influence (note the arched shape of the wide area), but with an arrangement that follows neoclassical models of the 19th century. This combination of styles was common in 19th century European silverware, and remained popular afterwards. The hallmarks on it place its manufacture in Oporto (Portugal), and date it between 1938 and 1984, indicating the metal's fineness (.833).
