About the Item

This Charatan’s Make “Special” pipe, crafted in London, England, represents one of the iconic productions of the renowned Charatan workshop, known for its impeccable briar selection and fine English tradition. The smooth bowl showcases an attractive birdseye and straight grain, with a warm honey-colored finish that enhances the natural patterns of the wood. The shank bears the clear stamp “CHARATAN’S MAKE / LONDON, ENGLAND / SPECIAL”, confirming its authenticity and grade, while the original stem features the inlaid CP logo, a hallmark of the brand. The vulcanite mouthpiece, showing wear and oxidation consistent with age, retains its original cut, reflecting Charatan’s characteristic hand-finishing and craftsmanship. The pipe is a classic straight billiard, proportioned with elegance, and represents a mid-grade in the Charatan hierarchy, sitting just below higher distinctions such as the Selected or Supreme. Its appeal lies in both its collectible status and smoking qualities, as Charatan pipes are widely esteemed for their engineering and balance. Condition: Used, with signs of handling, light rim darkening, and oxidation to the stem. No major flaws or cracks are visible, and the bowl interior remains in fair condition.
