About the Item

On offer is a rare unused and boxed 1950s bakelite battery operated flintless table lighter, the D.L.I 'Flamingo' by Dorset Light Industries Ltd Bridport England. This lighter is the 1st edition of the D.L.I 'Flamingo' produced in 1950 and features the original 6 dry cell batteries. Other later editions followed in 1953 with 4 batteries. Bakelite flintless desk lighter, in colour bordeaux red with grey stripe. Unused and retains its original box complete with user manual instructions, along with 6 original dry-cell batteries which will be discarded prior to dispatch. From what I can see, once powered up with the right batteries, pulling out the stopper reveals an already lit wand, its that sleek and simple Will make a great gift for a cigar or pipe smoker.. There are 2 of these lighters available. Bordeaux + Grey and Ivory + Black. This listing is for Bordeaux + Red.
