Dutch silver cigar case by Willem de Peijt, Schoonhoven, 1856
A silver cigar case for 5 cigars in size 12 cm x 1 cm. The silver case is decorated with floral engravings on the front and back. (Biedermeijer period). The case is completely Dutch silver hallmarked with "Lion2" 833/000 purity of silver. The Assayer's mark is faded. The Year letter W for the Year 1856 and the silversmith master sign for Wille de Peijt, Schoonhoven (mark used from period 1851-1878)
The case measures 13.2 cm high, 8 cm wide and the depth is 1.5 cm
The weight is 106 grams. Shows trace of use (some dents) and Initials.
