About the Item

The pipe features a straight billiard shape with a cylindrical bowl and a slightly tapered stem. The finish is sandblasted/rusticated, giving the surface a textured, tactile quality, while still showing areas of smooth finish around the shank. The stem is black vulcanite and connects seamlessly to the shank. The shank bears the Fincato stamp along with the designation Special Reserve, which suggests this was part of a higher-grade selection, possibly limited or selected for superior briar quality. Fincato was one of the oldest and most prestigious pipe and tobacco shops in Italy, founded in 1936. Pipes carrying the Fincato name are generally considered exclusive house pieces, sometimes commissioned from skilled Italian makers and branded specifically for the Fincato store.
