About the Item

A rare and beautifully crafted French Art Deco mechanical cigarette dispenser from the 1930s, designed in the form of an iconic Parisian street kiosk. This striking desk piece captures the spirit of early-20th-century Paris, complete with colorful cabaret and advertising posters, a domed Moorish-inspired roof, and intricate brass details. Expertly constructed in solid brass, the dispenser operates by lifting the crown-like dome, which reveals an extraordinary mechanical interior: a circular flower-form arrangement of movable cigarette holders that present the cigarettes elegantly when opened. The mechanism remains smooth and fully functional. The cylindrical body is wrapped in original period lithograph advertisements — including Lido Champs-Élysées Cabaret, Gitanes, and Loterie Nationale — lending it an unmistakably Parisian charm. The piece is mounted on a heavy, round brass base, secured with original screws and demonstrating excellent craftsmanship. Condition: Overall in wonderful vintage condition, with light wear consistent with age. – One of the cigarette holder “petals” is missing, though this is hardly noticeable and does not affect the function or display. – One small area of the paper advertisement shows loss (see close-up photos), but the graphics remain vibrant and richly characterful. – Mechanism opens and closes smoothly. This is an exceptional and highly decorative Art Deco object — perfect for collectors of smoking accessories, Parisian memorabilia, or mechanical curiosities. A true conversation piece with tremendous display presence. All orders are carefully packed and shipped within 24–48 hours. Gift wrapping is available upon request at no extra charge.
