About the Item

Set of four glass snuff bottles, very rare from the 1960s/70s, made of one of the glassworks - probably Joska Kristall, in the Bohemian Forest, Germany. These are collection items that were made to a masterful quality, which is even today a very rare craftsmanship that only a few glass artists still master. The four bottles, are designed differently, two with curved glass threads, the other two with glass dots flowing together. All four are in different colors, from orange, red, violet, green, yellow to blue and white. Measurements each, approx.: height 4,13 in – 10,5 cm, width 3,14 in – 8 cm, depth 0,98 in – 2,5 cm One of the many literatures: Thomas Dexel - Gebrauchsglas, Klinkhardt Biermann, Munich 1977, page 85, picture page 66 The snuff bottles are mouth-blown (because of that all works are unique and not two identical items exist) and of particularly high quality. A set of collectibles for every elaborate display case. Bottles like these are on display in different European glass museums. Very nice set of coffee / tea glass cups with the representation of sights of Venice Italy. The cups have a base in star shape of colorless glass, which then merges into a bulbous shape that has a different pastel color for each glass. The very nicely designed views of Venice show the main sights: the Doge's Palace, St. Mark's Tower, the Bridge of Sighs, a view with canal and gondola, the Church of Santa Maria della Salute and the Rialto Bridge. The complete set has two ways of use - as coffee mugs without the handles, or as tea mugs with the metal handle that can be attached to the base below. All vases are executed with polychrome multicoloured murrines and have an acid etched finish, one vase with glossy finish. The vases are authentic examples of early 20th century Murano art glass. They were part of a large Fratelli Toso glass collection with over 600 pieces - collected since the 1970s. Fratello Toso was one of the leading art glass manufacturers of Murano in the 20th century.
