About the Item

Vintage bakelite ashtray called "Velos Ash Barrel by Nonsmoker". Varrel-shaped design and is made of Bakelite (an early plastic) with a faux woodgrain exterior and a green mottled interior. The ashtray is self-contained: the top part has slots for holding cigarettes and a central hole for ashes and stubs to fall through. The bottom part is a removable compartment (the “ash barrel”) that collects ashes and extinguishes cigarette ends by cutting off air — this reduces smoke and smell, hence the name Nonsmoker. Very good condition.
