Excellent Early 1900s Schuco Monkey with Secret Perfume Holder, Germany
An exceptional early Schuco monkey, dating from the early 1900s, featuring a delightful hidden perfume holder—a charming and ingenious detail from the celebrated German toymaker Schuco.
Standing approximately 4 ¾ inches tall, this piece has a metal painted face with felt hands, feet, and ears, and a plush-covered body. The head lifts off to reveal a concealed glass perfume vial with a cork stopper, a rare and highly sought-after feature among early Schuco designs.
In excellent vintage condition, showing only a tiny amount of wear to the felt feet. The piece is clean, odor-free, and intact, with no tears or damage—remarkably well preserved for its age.
