About the Item

Rare and Collectible 1960's Horikawa Space Station Toy. Perfect for that space age toy collector. Tin Lithograph sphere that says Nasa Space Station on the side with plastic molded interior and original gray antenna. Missing top red radar piece, does not fully function. Missing a piece where one of the batteries connects so the battery cannot engage on one side . See video. Does not have original box.. Circa 1960's at the height of the space age program with Nasa. This comes with a book entitled “Collecting the Space Race” by Stuart Schneider. After the release of the first Space Station in early 60's, Horikawa released this version as NASA Space Station with similar design. It comes with 4, instead of 5, control rooms as found in the early version and has flashy lighting effects in each room. The light is supposed to flash when the station is orbiting or travelling around the space in mystery action. The radar is supposed to spin continuously with the 'PING' sound.
