About the Item

This pair of Art Deco bronze figural bookends are signed, but the artist could not be identified. It is presumed this pair of bookends was made in Austria in approximately 1920 in the period style. The mounted bronzes depict a standing male being watched by a standing female in possibly Alpine costume. Each bronze is mounted to a granite base, and one appears to be artist signed, but no foundry marks were noted on either of the figures.
