About the Item

The Portal design is a simple exercise in optics and color. The Aurora color and reflective light are diffused by a surface etching on the top third of the interior of each bookend. A single channel is carved and brought to an optical polish on the interior of each bookend allowing an effect that distorts reflections from different viewing angles. Each set is made by the hand of the artist in Brooklyn, NY.
