About the Item

A pair of antique brass bookends depicting the Inca deity Illapa, the god of thunder, lightning, rain, and war. Cast with simple features and shown carrying a warak'a or sling, with which he produced storms, and a makana or mace, which symbolizes his power and the trinity of lightning bolt, thunder and lightning. Dimensions per bookend.
