A rare and striking pair of mounted natural hippopotamus tooth bookends, dating from the turn of the 20th century. Each gracefully curved tooth has been expertly presented on a custom dark wood base, transforming these organic forms into sculptural decorative objects with strong presence and tactile appeal.
The warm ivory-toned surface shows the natural striations, growth patterns, and variations that make these specimens so captivating.
