This is a large pair of antique weighted bookends. An English, mahogany carved book rest with Art Nouveau taste, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910. Of wonderful form and weight, perfect for the larger book Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order Select stocks present fine grain interest and rich russet hues Fascinating curved form with Art Nouveau overtones Carved fascia decor with ornate, relief plant motif Substantial in the hand, the weighted interior helps tip the scales at over 2kg (4.4 lb) each Can be used across their rear or side fascia as required Dressed to the base with tactile leather protective pads This is an appealing pair of antique weighted bookends, with substantial heft to contain larger titles upon your shelf or tabletop.
