A fabulous vintage pair of gilted metal clad Chinese children scholar bookends by Ronson Art Metal Works, circa 1930s. The bookends depict two Chinese youngsters, beautifully sculpted; the boy is patiently observing while the girl is quietly absorbed by what she reads. #3395
This particular Ronson version is all the more rare because it is gilted. The set is in very good vintage condition and measures 10.5"W x 4"D x 8.75"H.
Ronson's Art Metal Works, founded by Louis Aronson in the 1800s, was a leader and pioneer in the manufacture of fine decorative metal wares into the 1930s producing a diverse selection of beautifully designed metal bookends, cigarette lighters, hood ornaments, figurines, lamps, and much more.
