About the Item
An elegant pair of sculpted pale white onyx bookends, featuring handsome horse heads. Dating from the 1970s, these unique pieces stand out for the natural beauty of onyx; the bases offer a striking contrast with rich black and gray veining. Both decorative and functional, these bookends will add a sophisticated touch to a library, office, or refined interior.
At 4 lbs. 8 oz. each, they are excellent at holding heavier books or objects in place.
Good vintage condition with some natural marks inherent to the stone and a few light dings to the edges. Green felt on bases has slid to the back, and could be trimmed at your discretion. Yellowed glue is visible in spots at the connection of the horse head to the base.
Each measures 7.5" high x 4.25" wide x 2.75" deep.
