Iconic pair of Postmodern angle-cut cylindrical black and white veined marble bookends. Nice hefty weighted pair in great condition with a few small edge chips.
Leave them displayed as sculpture or add books between them for a "leaning" effect upon the books. Soft high polish to exteriors and matte polish to the surfaces that would touch books.
The display options are limitless in the manner that each piece can be rotated and displayed. They could even be used individually in two different locations, or in a large display cabinet on different shelves. They could make for a great repetitive item in a built-in, also.
These are somewhat collectible and vintage versions exist carved from a variety of marbles in different colors and veining. They're prime for collectors, if you happen to already have a pair or two!
