About the Item
A wonderful French brass and onyx compendium with celestial and terrestrial globes of approximately 3.5" diameter, the celestial signed "Delamarche Paris", the terrestrial signed "E. Bertaux Paris" flanking silvered barometer and thermometer dials, a silvered Roman time dial and a small compass. The entire piece is mounted on a tapering heavy brass base.
Delamarche and Bertaux were both very well regarded globe makers in the 19th century.
