About the Item

A rare revolving 8 day time and strike globe clock in a gilt metal case resting on a gilt gesso by famed French clockmaker Farcot. The globe was made by Parisian maker Delamarche and is signed and dated. The clock's gilt metal case depicts the arts, painting travel and astronomy in an allegorical manner. The globe rotates a full 360 degrees over a 24 hour period. Clock runs and strikes at the hour.
