About the Item
Vintage inlaid semi-precious gemstone tabletop terrestrial globe on a brass stand. A labor-intensive, beautiful work with hand-cut and inlaid stones including Tiger's Eye, Jasper, Malachite, Quartz, Mother-of-Pearl, Turquoise and others to represent the continents and Blue Lapis for the oceans highlighted by thin brass ribbons for longitude and latitude lines. The patinated brass stand provides a nice contrast to the vibrant, glossy pearlescence of the globe and lends an old-world character.
