Rare antique wood hand carved gothic revival child settle / small hall bench / foldable Library Ladder, Metamorphic Library steps, 1880s
This unique petite antique Gothic revival bench / metamorphic Library steps, would be perfect for a smaller entry area or for a child. It's from France and it dates to the 1880's. This is a high quality piece and it is foldable into a library ladder.
Use this piece as a decorative small childs bench or as a staircase for your bookcase to organize books in your office or library, or as a decorative stool.
The bench is in good condition with some normal signs of use, the upholstery does has wear.
The previous owner said that as a child she always played with the bench along with her siblings , except when mother had to be in the tall big closet it was folded over into a set of stairs.
