About the Item
Add architectural elegance to any console or mantel with this refined pair of hand-carved rock crystal obelisks. Crafted in Brazil, each tall and slender monument rests on a stepped square plinth and features a sharply pointed finial above a tapering shaft. The translucent quartz displays natural veining, subtle inclusions, and delicate internal reflections that catch the light beautifully.
Obelisks became highly fashionable in France during the Empire period, when Napoleon’s Egyptian campaign inspired decorative arts throughout Europe. These luminous examples pay homage to that neoclassical fascination with antiquity. Both pieces are in excellent condition with a smooth, polished surface and soft, timeworn patina.
