About the Item

19th century inlaid adjustable fire screen circa 1830. Fully adjustable shield shape screen, inlaid border with a floral french silk insert.  Original pole and brass threaded catch.  Fluted stem and standing on a stepped triform base, which has inlaid florals on each foot.  Standing on 3 turned feet. Expected minor surface marks in line with age and use.  Good quality decorative item for any period fireplace.
