About the Item
A fine pair of Antique 19th Century English William IV Brass and Rosewood Needlepoint Fire/Pole Screens, Circa 1830. The screens having brass stems with turned finials mounted with adjustable shield-shaped screens with the original needlepoint. The needlepoint is very finely and delicately rendered, once screen showing a peasant in a leafy setting, the other with a roundel of flowers
leaves. The quadruped bases are made of rosewood
have turned fluted columns, each screen stands on four raised and carved stylized bun feet. Both screens are in excellent condition.
