This is an antique privacy screen. An English, handpainted pine 3 panel room divider in Japanese taste, dating to the Victorian period and later, circa 1900. Strikingly decorative folding screen with wonderful painted scenes Displaying a desirable aged patina with delicately weathered paint surfaces Versatile three screen form, can be angled or unfolded in the centre of a room Sets of brass hinges articulate each field panel screen Handpainted with a bright pastel palette against a cream coloured pine frame Displaying fascinating Japanese scenes, with eye-catching pink birds Further iconography includes the famous Mount Fuji and cherry blossom trees Distinctive violet coloured wash to the reverse This is an appealing antique privacy screen or room divider, with delightful handpainted Japanese icons presenting fine detail.
