About the Item
Folding screen executed with floral tapestries in Gobelin and Aubusson style (19th century).
This rare three-panel folding screen is covered on the front side with detailed, hand-stitched tapestry panels featuring flower vases and fruit motifs. The panels are finished with decorative brass nailheads and a red velour border.
The reverse side of the screen is covered with a rich, red silk damask fabric, giving the object two different, atmospheric appearances.
Condition: The tapestry shows natural discoloration and wear (patina) appropriate for its age, which emphasizes the authenticity of this historical piece.
A unique decorative object for a classic or eclectic interior.
