About the Item
This is a mid 20th century hand painted eight panel coromandel screen. This Lacquered screen is incised with colorful scenery depicting idyllic Court life in a palace complex. Finally dressed men and women and their attendance stroll throughout an enclosed courtyard of elaborate pavilions and low railings. The beautiful scene has a parcel guilt border on either side and the bottom. This Chinese screen was exported from China circa 1950.
