About the Item

Divide a room or accent a living room wall with this elegant antique Chinese folding screen. Crafted in China circa 1920, the six-panel screen stands on bracket feet finished with brass sabots, and each lacquered panel is richly decorated with hand-incised and inlaid scenes. One side depicts a detailed procession of horsemen and courtiers crossing a mountainous landscape with pagodas and trees, rendered in shades of gold, bronze, and mother-of-pearl tones on a black lacquer background. The reverse features delicate botanical and bird motifs, offering a more tranquil and decorative alternative view. The piece showcases exceptional craftsmanship and artistry, with fine gilt and etched detailing throughout. The folding screen is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, boasting a deep patinated lacquer finish with subtle wear that enhances its antique character.
