This vintage four-panel folding screen features an ornate painted surface depicting whimsical chinoiserie scenes across each panel. Rendered in soft, earthy tones with delicate detail, the composition presents stylized figures, flora, and architectural elements rising from gnarled roots and branches. The visual language nods to traditional Chinese export aesthetics interpreted through a European decorative lens, evoking 18th-century fantasies of the East.
Each panel is topped with a gently scalloped arch and joined by brass hinges, allowing for flexible arrangement and ease of placement.
