About the Item
Gonfalon Paravent is a spatial divider that oscillates between architecture and textile, solidity and fluidity. First conceived in 2020 and revisited in a second edition in 2026, the piece reflects an evolving exploration of material, gravity, and transparency.
Composed of cascading chainmail strands suspended within a minimal metal frame, the paravent acts as a permeable boundary rather than a fixed wall. Light, air, and movement pass through its surface, allowing spaces to remain visually connected while subtly redefined. The rhythmic repetition of the chains recalls ceremonial banners or architectural drapery, lending the piece its name and quiet monumentality.
The chainmail’s soft metallic sheen contrasts with the structural clarity of the frame, creating a dialogue between ornament and function. As light shifts throughout the day, the surface transforms—at times appearing dense and protective, at others almost immaterial.

Panorammma Atelier
Panorammma is a furniture design laboratory based in Mexico City that seeks to redefine our relationship with functional objects through experimentation with materials and forms. At Panorammma, functionality becomes a premise for visual narratives and a means to conceive altered states of living. Panorammma’s peotics oscillate between disciplines, while focusing on a crucial point of contemporary sensibility: the expanding pathology of the concrete, the alineation of everyday life and the space that abstraction occupies in the social sphere. Panorammma’s designs delve into these themes by exploring past visions of the future and creating the myth of memory. Panorammma pursues the creation of objects that generate fissures from which fantasy spills into our reality and informs an imaginative play; a scenography from parallel fiction. Pseudo prop. Panorammma creates actors through whose presence and performative ability can create of our domestic spaces unusual scenarios. Testimonies of a refusal to live ordinarily. Maika Palazuelos (Designer and Director) initiated Panorammma during the confinement with the intention of creating a permeable and open platform for design exploration. Identifying in expressive domestic objects a possibility for them to complete with and extend our everyday narrative by inserting themselves into it. In a sense, they become trojan horses for artistic discourse by disrupting and reframing the mundane.
