About the Item

Italian Neoclassical style hand painted wood four panel screen or room divider. The four sections decorated with two floral painted panels, each framed with raised molding. Each panel painted in mauve, taupe, green, pale blue and green on a bone white background with a central cartouche with heart shaped extensions. Framed in dark green ogee molding. The surround painted burgundy with a gold trim with shaped crowns. The reverse also has framed panels of bone white with a pale green border and dark green molding. Italy, mid 20th century. The panels are connected to each other with cotter pin hinges. A handsome and quite sturdy screen, tall enough to be an adequate room divider. This can also be mounted flat on the wall as decorative art. 81.75 inches high 72 wide 1.2 deep
