Salvatore Messina, room divider or wall unit, aluminum, Italy, 1960s
Salvatore Messina (1916–1982) explored the themes of movement and spatial concepts through his innovative metal sculptures. The three-dimensionality of this piece is highlighted by the angled elements arranged at varying inclines. Vertical lines enhance the dynamic energy and rhythm of the room divider. The interplay between shiny and matte metal surfaces contributes to a sense of fluidity, while the materials emphasize the luxurious aesthetic of this handcrafted piece. Messina signed the work with "Salv".

Established in 2006, Morentz has a team of approximately 55 restorers, upholsterers, interior advisers and art historians, making it a gallery, workshop and upholstery studio, all in one.
