This unique wrought-iron firescreen immediately stands out for its artisanal character and the richness of its details. The piece is entirely handmade and carries a warm, rust-brown patina that gives it a lived-in, rustic charm.
At the center of the design is a stylized bird, captured mid-gesture with its wings spread wide as it perches on a branch. The shape suggests a large waterbird, perhaps a heron, cormorant, or simply an imaginative, artistic interpretation. The long neck, gracefully curved beak, and opened wings draw the eye. The bird is intentionally not a faithful replica of any one species; rather, it is sculpted in an expressive, slightly abstract style, with textured lines in the metal that suggest movement and life.
Behind the bird sits a fine metal mesh, tightly framed within a rectangular border. Additional details such as the engraved diagonal texture on the frame, the twisted iron uprights on either side, and the elegantly curled feet give the whole piece a distinctly traditional, almost medieval character.
