About the Item
Scandinavian Modern Room Divider Rio-Palisander by Gilbert Marklund. This piece is entirely unique and made in restricted wood. The room divider has been shown at an art and craft exhibition in Umeå, 1971. You can see a scrapbook cutout from a local newspaper announcing the exhibition.
This divider should be selected as a museum piece.
Gilbert Marklund, (1927-2006) interior architect and designer. As a 17-year-old, his artistic talent was discovered when he had his first exhibition in Håknäs (Northern Sweden). After training as a structural engineer where he worked with interior design and coloring and advanced to head of the interior design department. His own feeling for solid wood material culminated in his own creations of furniture. This piece has Cites documents included.
