About the Item

An English carved oak trunk with bottom drawer, circa 1820-50's. This antique trunk from England features an exquisitely hand-carved front facade with geometric shaped panels, and adorn with column, diamond, oval and round medallion accents, with an arch-shaped center that gives the illusion of an entryway. Thoughtfully placed mother of pearl and bone inlays add further embellishments to this piece. This rectangular shaped trunk, with top that opens to reveal it's spacious interior for storage, has a full-length drawer at bottom, and is presented and raised on a pair of bulb-carved feet at front, with block style feet at rear. The backside of this piece remains unadorned. This 19th century English chest is nicely sized at just over 5 feet in length.

A Spanish 18th century large size carved-wood coffer trunk. This Spanish trunk from the 18th century features a long rectangular-shaped top which rests above a beautifully carved case adorned with leaf motif moldings and geometrically designed panels with decorative accents within their centers. Front paw feet project out beneath the thickly molded skirt. The trunk's interior offers a large open storage space. Handsome 18th Century Italian Carved-Walnut Credenza Cabinet

An Italian carved walnut wood buffet credenza from the 18th century. This antique sideboard from Italy features rich walnut wood which has been carved with raised decorative cartouche plaques, in varying designs, about the front face. This piece has a rectangular-shaped top which slightly overhangs the case that is fitted with three small drawers set horizontally above a pair of doors at bottom (which open to a shelf on the inside, maximizing the storage potential of this piece). This chest is presented upon a pair of rail legs at either end with accolade carved skirt, turning to bracket-style front feet, and a single shapely carved foot/brace at front center of skirt that adds just enough lift/space between the case and the floor. The dark, rich wood has a wonderful old patina throughout; a showing of its centuries old age. Note that there have been prior repairs at the side and there is a slight bowing at top.
