Created in Japan during the midcentury period, this vintage wedding box features an oxblood red lacquer perfectly accented by a gilded hand-painted décor depicting bamboo sticks with their leaves and delicate flowers. Created to be part of the extensive wedding trousseau provided to the daughter, this chest showcases a linear silhouette perfectly complimented by a dark red lacquer. A rectangular lid, adorned with brass corners, opens to reveal a thin black tray.
