Victorian Leather Ladies Purse.
A folding crocodile leather ladies purse, wallet, sewing kit with silver-gilt mounts and clip fastening, hallmarked London, 1885 with makers maker FP in a rectangular cartouche. Most probably Frederic Purnell who registered this mark Feb 1876, his earlier mark of an oval cartouche was registered Feb 1868. A rather lovely little sewing purse with compartments for you sewing needles, two material leaves for safety pins and four long thin compartments (possibly for thread). There are three paper packets of old needles ( two Abel Morrall's needles
one Wm. Hall
Co.needle packet) and a 'The Hotel Metropole London' 2" metal ruler.
