A stunning large and complete set of 13 pieces of Fine Tiffany Co., sterling silver vanity items, including a very large glove box, a large jewelry box (oval) and a tall upright powder box (round), in very good to excellent condition for age, with date marks that tell us it was created between 1892 ~ 1902 (directorship of Charles L. Tiffany). This is an important set, and from a period when Mr. Charles Louis Tiffany lead the firm, himself one of the original founders, along with John B. Young, and of course whose name remains the symbol of elegance, artistry and opulence. The firm began in 1837 at 259 Broadway, NYC., had a variety of directors and partners until in 1853, Charles Louis Tiffany became sole partner. This set coincides with the final years of his leadership of the firm, and ends upon his death in 1902. The set was completed in the 10 years prior to Mr. Tiffany's death. Of course the firm remains a leader in luxury goods, jewelry. This particular set is quite remarkable for it's scale. That largest box, fluted glass rectangle with heavy silver lid, is 9" x 4" and 3" tall. The silver is very heavy on this set, thick gauge and solid. Gold 'vermeil' process on the interior of the powder jar, and all the bristles in the 4 brushes are fine old boar bristles, completely sanitized. The only brush with a bit of loss is the barber's brush (long bristles) and it does have some need of re-bristling. The remaining brushes are quite fine and very complete, and sanitized for your use and enjoyment. The mirror has a touch of haze to the mirror, which is a thick old beveled glass mirror over 110 years old, remember, so is in really fine condition for age. And what could be more charming than the addition of the pocket watch stand and a pair of trays for odds and ends. The large oval jewelry box might well be my favorite. At a full 5" x 3.75" and 2" tall, it weighs a good deal and is so rich and opulent in the hand. A stunning set, and with superb historical importance, as well. Well over 37 troy oz. in this set. The gauge of silver is thick and heavy on the boxes, in particular. A superb find! The monogram is, we believe, an 'L'. We've shown it so you can determine it for yourself.

Very good to excellent for age and type, as noted above. The few flaws I'll note here: the barber or crumb brush with long bristles is missing some bristle plugs, visible in our images. There is a small push dent to the outer rim of the lid of the powder jar (round upright), and the slightest lift to a section of the top of the extra large 9" x 4" rectangular box, as well, though it's not a dent, just a slight rise that seems not quite to be as it should be to match it's opposing side. Again, this is only upon very close inspection, hardly bears a note but we prefer to mention anything we find. There is a flashing chip to the upper rim of that same large box and we've marked it in the photos so you can inspect it. A ding to the tip of one handle, which actually more or less blends into the pattern. Very slight dimples, 3 or 4, to the display recess of the pocket watch stand, not visible when watch is in place. A magnificent set - Rare as can be to find this many pieces all together after a century and more. Tiffany marks put this set between 1892 - 1902.
