An Indonesian Palembang trunk from the late 19th, early 20th century, with hand-painted décor. Created in Indonesia during the Turn of the Century, this Palembang trunk attracts our attention with its red ground beautifully adorned with a perfectly organized décor showcasing energetic black hand-painted riders on horses surrounded by abundant foliage. Presenting a rectangular lid opening to reveal a red lacquered interior, the trunk is raised on a carved plinth. With its clean lines and skillful décor, this late 19th, early 20th century Palembang trunk will make for a great addition to any home, whether used as a coffee table or blanket chest!
