Edwardian English Leather Brass Suitcase by Army Navy CSL, London, Early 20th Century Description: A handsome and historically rich early 20th-century English leather suitcase by the renowned Army Navy Co-operative Society Ltd. (A&N CSL), London. Expertly constructed from thick, saddle-grade leather with a robust box form, this piece exemplifies Edwardian craftsmanship in travel goods. The exterior is beautifully aged with a deep, burnished patina and bears the original brass hardware, including twin lever locks stamped “Four Lever” and a solid handle mounted in brass fittings. The initials “S.E.G.” are embossed into the face, adding a layer of character and provenance. The interior is lined in classic green canvas and retains its original maker’s stamp from A&N CSL, a respected outfitter to the British military and aristocracy. Its structured shape, stitched paneling, and fine hand-finishing reflect the level of quality expected by officers and upper-class travelers of the period. This suitcase is not only a remarkable survivor but also a bold decorative statement—perfect for display in a library, study, or as a distinctive prop. Condition: Very good, structurally sound with expected surface wear and scuffs consistent with age. One-of-a-kind patina. Latches work smoothly.
