English Leather Travel or Steamer Trunk by John Pound Co. England, circa 1883

A colorful John P. Shriner & Co. steamer trunk in classic domed formed with vibrant paneled black and orange-red tooled leather alternating between metal bands with decorative brackets and nailhead trims around the corners. Opens to a fabric lined interior in red with a dainty floral pattern, including a double-knobbed upper lid. Affixed with the manufacturer's label on the lid interior. Dimensions: 29 1/2" L, 18" D and 21 1/2" H Condition: Please see detail photos. Various signs of age and use include a broken lift handle, finish and paint losses, slight age rusting, nicks, rubs and some sporadic scratches to be expected in a rustic and very much used luggage...
