Fitted steamer trunk or cabin wardrobe, portmanteau by LG Paris
A superb piece of history dating back to the time when your luggage would be taken to your cabin. This one is canvas, metal bound, brass studded and it is domed at the top
The trunk opens out, on one side there is a pull-out wardrobe section with the original hangers, and leather strapping to hold walking sticks etc. On the opposite side there are five drawers, the interior is lined with a patterned fabric, the inner fabric is bright but the drawer frays have faded, one of the drawers has been recovered
The trunk is 45” tall , 25” wide and 23” deep
