About the Item

Original teal blue painted dome top oak trunk from Sweden with traditional hand-painted details include floral motif along top and front. Monogram of ASD and date "1827" indicate this trunk may have been crafted to give as a dowry or wedding present. Wrought corners, long hinges and side handles, lock does not function but key included for aesthetics. Restored and waxed, this heavy trunk is ready to be placed and enjoyed. Signs of wear typical for age include nicks, scratches, cracks, various age related separation of wood along top, bottom, etc. This wear does not impact the strength nor functional integrity of the trunk which is ready for use. More wear to painted finish is seen along top where it was handled and touched, which reveals the natural oak below. Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition, and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting all impact how item is viewed. Photos are part of item description, please ask questions or request additional photos of specific areas if needed.
