About the Item
This is an old trunk made in Sweden in the late 19th century.
Geometrically patterned colored paper (decorative paper) is pasted onto the wooden body, and the fading over time creates a soft look.
The iron fittings and hinges are hand-forged, giving the trunk a folk-art feel with its rustic yet quiet strength.
A red pattern is printed on the inside of the lid, giving the trunk a distinctive decorative look.
This item is thought to have been used by local farmhands or as storage for travelers, and conveys the beauty of Nordic folk art, combining decorativeness with practicality.
