About the Item
A pair of lacquered trunks with iron hardware mounted on custom-made later stands. One trunk having a single drawer at one end. The detachable lids on these trunks are linen wrapped and then lacquered over. Japan, mid to late 19th century.
Excellent for low coffee table or end tables.
