A fine large 19th century, thick, high quality leather overseas travelling trunk with reinforced exposed straps, handles and chrome hardware stamped USA with internal locking mechanism and ring for padlocks. No key. Repair to one strap and one handle. Original pale blue textile interior with red piping and divider with compartments and leather straps. Maker unknown. Wonderful deep and rich patina reflecting its history from years of travel Can be repurposed as a chest on stand in a bedroom or hallway; a coffee or low table or decorative object.
