Antique Hand Carved Gothic Church Panel of Feeding Pelican as Symbol of Christ
Located in Lisse, NL
Stunning religious wall panel in thick relief with strong hook for easy mounting. For the collectors of stunning antique church relics we are also offering this marvelously hand carved pelican sculpture for wall mounting. The character ascribed to the pelican in this context is nearly as fabulous as that of the phœnix. From a clumsy, gluttonous, piscivorous water-bird, it was by the growth of legends transformed into a mystic emblem of Christ, whom Dante terms "Nostro Pelicano". St. Hieronymus gives the story of the pelican restoring its young ones destroyed by serpents as an illustration of the destruction of man by the old Serpent, and his salvation by the blood of Christ. The pelican in Christian art is an emblem of Jesus Christ, by "whose blood we are healed" and it is also a symbol of charity. Many early painters and carvers mistakenly represented it more similar to an eagle (much like in this antique church relic), and not as a natural pelican which is why most people today still are a bit confused at first when this stunning hand carved, symbolic bird is called a pelican. This striking and all hand carved, symbolic panel was originally part of a church or monastery communion rail...

Ladies Wristwatch of 18k gold by Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe for Georg Jensen
Located in Berlin, BE
Ladies Wristwatch of 18k gold by Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe for Georg Jensen, 1970s Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe (1927–2004) was one of Sweden's most important 20th century silversmiths and the first female silversmith to attract international attention. She secured her first exhibition aged 21. By the late 1940s and early 1950s, she was part of the Paris art studio fraternity, counting Picasso and Billie Holiday as friends.? Torun created the Vivianna watch in 1962, a spoon-shaped ‘never-ending’ bangle with a mirrored dial and simple hands but devoid of numerals. Originally commissioned for an exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, she said her decision to leave out the hour markers suggested a kind of non-time, so that each time the wearer looked at the dial, the message that ‘life is now...

Located in DE
Beautiful and rare Art Nouveau or Art Deco 20th century Paravent. The stunning geometry of the pattern draws you into a hall full of archways and pillars. The room divider has four panels and is made out of wood, painted and gold leafed. The pattern comes out of the panels, as it is textured in a 3 dimensional way. The elegant color scheme is striking in its black and gold and copper contrast and no attention to detail has been spared in this beautiful and rare screen. The back of the room divider is painted black. Details are painted in greens, blues and pastel purple and beige colors. The size of the home screen measures 215 cm in height, 185 in width and 2 cm in depth. Mint 1997 Omas “Return to the Motherland” limited edition 18k gold fountain pen
Located in Weesp, NL
1997 OMAS Return to the Motherland Limited Edition Fountain Pen Solid 18K Gold · No. 063/200 · 123g · Mint Full Set w/ Original 1997 Red Ink A rare and historically weighted masterpiece — this 1997 OMAS Return to the Motherland fountain pen was created to honor the handover of Hong Kong from British to Chinese governance, marking one of the most significant geopolitical transitions of the 20th century. Only 200 examples were produced worldwide, each individually numbered. This piece is No. 063/200, preserved in mint, uninked condition, and complete with every original component. Crafted entirely in 18 karat gold and weighing an impressive 123 grams, the pen is sculpted in deep high-relief — a tactile narrative rendered directly into precious metal. Sculptural Symbolic Detail • Imperial Dragon in full sculptural relief — symbol of prosperity, sovereignty and protection • Flowing silk texture motifs — referencing millennia of Chinese heritage and continuity • Engraved Great Wall — endurance, culture, identity, the spine of civilization • Pink/White Dolphins — indigenous to Hong Kong waters, symbols of harmony, freedom, renewal • Red lacquer grip and finial — the color of fortune, vitality and auspicious beginnings in Chinese culture These elements are not printed — they are carved, dimensional and alive with symbolism. A writing instrument that feels like a piece of sculpture. Nib — Two-Tone Gold with Commemorative Engraving The pen is fitted with a two-tone 18K gold nib — white finished (rhodium/platinum over 18K) with inlaid yellow-gold dragon details and engraved: “HONG KONG 1997” Also signed OMAS · 18K This feature alone makes the edition unmistakable: culturally specific, commemorative, and produced at a level of craftsmanship few modern pens approach. Complete, Original Presentation ✔ No. 063/200 ✔ Inner and outer boxes (deep red, gold accents) ✔ Commemorative gold-plated display case...

Dunhill Carlton Ware Spider Web Table Lighter
Located in Northampton, GB
Alfred Dunhill Lighter Circa 1957 From our Accessories collection, we are delighted to offer this Dunhill ‘Carlton’ Spider Web Table Lighter. The Lighter Gold Plated lighter was produced in partnership with Carlton Ware with the ceramic body produced by Stoke on Trent potters Carlton (Carlton Ware). The body has been hand painted with a spider web design amongst blossoming flowers and two dragonflies. The Lighter is embossed to the front Dunhill and bears the registration number to the inside of the pivoting arm 737418. The base of the lighter is stamped Dunhill, Lighter. The Lighter dates to the middle of the 20th century circa 1957. Carlton Ware was established in 1890 by James Frederick Wiltshaw, William Herbert Robinson and James Alcock Robinson trading under the name of Wiltshaw and Robinson. The trademark “Carlton Ware” was introduced in 1894, and the company’s factory was renamed the Carlton Works. The company changed its name multiple times and changed hands finally reaching the name ‘Carlton Ware Ltd’ in 1958. In 1966 the company was sold to Arthur Wood and Sons before coming under financial pressure in the late 1980s being forced into receivership in 1989 and production ending in 1992. In 1997 the Carlton Ware brand was resurrected by Francis Joseph of the Carlton Ware Design Centre, Roslyn Works, Stoke-on-Trent. It continues to manufacture novelty items aimed at the collectors’ market today. Dunhill Lighters specifically the classic petrol lift arm table lighter was introduced by Dunhill in 1928 running until the introduction of gas in the 1960’s. This particular Carlton Wear example was first introduced in the Dunhill catalogue in 1957. The body was created in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent potters Carlton Ware. Carlton Ware produced three different examples to compliment the Dunhill body a fish underwater design, a chinoiserie pagoda design and the spider web as seen here. Dunhill Alfred Dunhill was Born September 30th 1872. From 1890 Dunhill ran a company that sold motoring accessories through mail order under the name Dunhill’s Motorities. In 1902 he opened a shop on Conduit Street, Mayfair which sold clothing...
