This is a tall antique portico coat stand. An English, heavy cast iron reception hall hat or umbrella rack, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900. Superb, late Victorian stand, with appealing proportion and Art Nouveau taste Displays a desirable aged patina, lightly time worn throughout Robust cast iron form, with a substantial weight of 25kg (55.11 lb) Finished in a tasteful Old English white paint Arranged as a trio of articulated four-branch coat and stick hooks Acanthus form finial stands prominently above the whole, at a height of 6' 2" Decorated drip tray base ideal for catching umbrella water Unmarked as such, but in the manner of Coalbrookdale This is a delightfully substantial antique portico coat stand, with a charming decorative appearance in the Art Nouveau manner.
