Alias 030 To’taime Coat Stand in Black Lacquered Aluminum Frame by Eugeni Quittlet and Philippe Starck
Coat-stand with structure in die-cast aluminium and central portion in extruded aluminium. Coat hook in black or clear methacrylate.
Born in Ibiza in 1972, where he studied design at the institute of art. In 1996, after achieving a diploma in interior architecture and design from “La Llotja” art school in Barcelona, he began his career by working on installations for cultural organisations, such as the Joan Mirò Foundation. He also created ephemeral objects and spaces during the “Primavera Del Disseny” design biennial (1997, 1999, 2001). In 2001 he met Philippe Starck in Formentera, and they soon went on to develop a strong partnership. They have designed numerous projects together, including the Home/Gym/Office collection (2009) and the to ‘taime coat stand (2011). For Alias, he has designed the elle seating collection (2012) and tabu (2014). He currently lives and works in Paris.
Born in Paris in 1949. Among the most popular designers of the moment for his originality and fertility, he won important awards such as the Grand Prix National of the Crèation Industrielle (1988) and the Honor Award of the American Institute of Architects in 1992. Home/Gym/Office inaugurates the partnership with Alias. Together with Eugeni Quitllet he designs for Alias the coat-stand to’taime (2011). He lives and works in Paris.
